The basis of Copper Silver Coins is that you have ONE coin that is copper on one side and silver on the other.  This coin will allow you to perform many different tricks.

We have supplied you with a real English penny and a special Copper Silver coin.  You will need an additional, real half dollar to perform this trick.

Start by putting the English penny in your right pants pocket and the real half, along with the copper silver coin, copper side up on your left palm.

The real half dollar should be overlapping the copper silver coin slightly.

Tell your spectator that you have a copper coin and silver coin.  Point at these coins with your right hand.  Now close your left hand and turn it palm down.  In doing this, the coins are now nested in your hand with the half dollar side of the copper silver coin on top of the stack.

Reach into your fist as illustrated, between your thumb and index finger.

Take the top coin, the copper silver one, with the now silver side up, from your hand.

Say, “I will take the half dollar and put it in my pocket.  (Your right pant pocket)  As you deposit this coins into your pocket, at the same time pick up the real English penny.  This will take some practice.

Patter #1.  Take your hand out of your pocket and say, “Watch carefully.  This happens fast.”  Snap your fingers and announce that the coins have changed places.  Reach into your pocket and pull out the English penny.  Hand both coins to your spectator.

Patter #2.  Leave your hand in your pocket and ask the question, “If the silver coin is in my pocket, then which coin is in my hand?”  Your spectator will answer with the obvious, “the copper coin,” but will be proven wrong.  As they answer, open the left hand and expose the half dollar.  At the same time, remove your right hand from your pocket and hand out the English penny and say, “You were not paying attention.”

You have just baffled your spectator.  The two coins changed places.  With the Copper Silver coin in your pocket, everything is examinable.
