Why “sterlingmagiccoins.com?”
Well, the previous owner did not maintain ownership of sterlingmagic.com. When I purchased the company, sterlingmagic.com was available for $30,000. That’s a little more than my budget allows. I see that the price has come down. I still can’t afford it.
Why “Ted’s” Sterling Magic?
In order to do business these days, you need a trademark. Since the Sterling Magic trademark was not maintained, I had to try to obtain a new trademark. Unfortunately, I was not able to trademark “Sterling Magic.” So, I had to modify the name slightly. That is why we are here.
Back order Policy
For products that we are now able to produce, we are accepting back orders. As orders are placed, they will be fulfilled as quickly as possible.
First cut,..
Dateline – 10:34am Central, Sunday, May 15, 2022. We have made the first cut. It wasn’t successful, but it is a start. We are now able to make shells. No faces. One of our machines is down with a bad motor. We are getting closer.
Just in case you were wondering,…
Is it illegal to use real US coins to make magic tricks?
According to the U.S. Treasury F.A.Q., the answer is- No.
It is only illegal to alter a US coin with the intention of spending it as if it were a coin of a different value.
From the official U.S. Treasury website: “Section 331 of Title 18 of the United States code provides criminal penalties for anyone who ‘fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the Mints of the United States.’ This statute means that you may be violating the law if you change the appearance of the coin and fraudulently represent it [in a monetary transaction in trade for goods or services] to be other than the altered coin that it is. As a matter of policy, the U.S. Mint does not promote coloring, plating or altering U.S. coinage: however, there are no sanctions against such activity absent fraudulent intent.”
